The completion project of Highway 25 is a result of a private-public partnership. The Smart Link consists of a four-lane highway link between Henri-Bourassa Boulevard in Montreal and Highway 440 in Laval, a total length of 7.2 kilometres, including a 1.2-kilometre bridge over Rivière des Prairies equipped with a fully electronic toll system. The project includes a free multi-use path for cyclists and pedestrians. The project provides a highway link between the eastern part of Montreal and the northern crown of the Montreal metropolitan area anxiously awaited for the past 40 years.
