  • A spokesman for the Laval Police Department says the LPD has no apologies to make for the fact its traffic officers are ticketing drivers who coast through stop signs, even when icy road conditions make coming to a stop difficult.

  • Jan. 3 – It was just after 10:30 a.m. when a man wearing a ski mask entered the Caisse Populaire Desjardins at 1535 Blvd St-Martin Ouest and demanded money from the cashier at gunpoint.

  • Jan. 6 – Thirty residents were forced out of their homes in the middle of the night when a fire started in an apartment building on Léger Blvd in Pont-Viau.

  • Ten boys aged 13 to 15 years were arrested on Thursday at their Laval homes as part of a police investigation into the distribution of child pornography materials. All were expected to be arraigned in youth court. They face charges of producing, possessing and distributing child pornography materials.

  • Daycare owner Christina Strigas says when she heard the crash, she raced out of her office to see a car parked inside the classroom. (CBC)

  • Laval Police are asking for the public's assistance in locating two teenage Laval girls who have been missing for several months.

  • May 9 – At 4:15pm, 911 received a call about a body spotted floating under the Papineau bridge. The fire department was dispatched, and they retrieved the body from the water.
