Stop signs on Stephanie Street approved

At the request of St. Dorothee residents Roger Cauchi and Paul Trapp who had asked city officials to place road signs ‘Attention a nos enfants’ (Attention children) and ‘Lentement’ (Slow down) on Stephanie Street in order to make it safer, agents of Laval’s municipal engineering department have studied the road sign configurations along Stephanie Street near the referred to Raphael Street intersection. Citing the existence of a curving road before and after the aforementioned intersection which greatly limits visibility the city engineers have taken matters one step further recommending that stop signs and the appropriate street lines be placed at this intersection in all directions. During their investigation of this area they also determined that night time restrictions for alternate parking were mistakenly installed along a small stretch of this road instead of the habitual 8 AM to 5 PM restrictions found in residential areas. This will also be corrected. Madame Dubreuil city councillor for this area was consulted and she agreed with all the suggested changes. The executive committee has approved the proposed installations and have asked the community life, communication and culture service to produce leaflets to be distributed to the local residents informing them of the proposed changes in the traffic signs.
