Destruction of municipal property

Laval’s urban department issued the necessary certificates and permits that allowed a resident located on 713 Basinet Street in St. Dorothée to install an in ground swimming pool. When the post construction inspection was effected it was discovered that the owner and or the entrepreneur responsible for the installation of the pool tore down a bank of earth that was installed by the city to separate the backyards of residences from the Mega centre Notre Dame shopping facilities probably to facilitate access to their job site. Landscaping also located on city property was damaged beyond repair.
The executive has been asked to refer the matter to the legal department in order to initiate actions that would oblige the owners and or their contractor to take corrective measures and restore the site to its original condition.
