Laval resident Romina Gabrielle Avelino has successfully made it as one of the top 12 finalists in the prestigious Miss Quebec 2012 competition, which will be held in January. She joins other young female Quebecers who have competed for the Miss Quebec title, including Danielle Ouimet.
Made the finals
Romina was chosen from hundreds of aspiring candidates from all over the province and has made it through several elimination stages since last July. She was the only Asian and the only anglophone to make it to the finals. During the final eliminations in October, she charmed and astounded the judges and audience with her unique but charismatic French accent, which won her some of the loudest applause among the semi-finalists.

First runner-up
Romina was the first runner-up from the Miss Teen Famas Montreal 2011 competition, held last March. In it, she also bagged many of the special awards, including Miss Photogenic, Miss Talent and Miss Congeniality. As a Miss Quebec finalist, she will be able to participate as one of the official candidates for Miss Canada 2012 and will also have the chance to take part in other international pageants to be sponsored by the Miss Quebec organizers in Barbados, Guatemala and Las Vegas.
Webpage coming
Romina will be doing a show for Le Château and other known boutiques. Her webpage will soon be available on the Miss Quebec website, and will include two video capsules, photoshoots, chronicles and her personal profile. She will also be featured in two local newspapers in the city of Laval as the only Laval resident to represent her city in the Miss Quebec pageant.
