ABOUT THE LAVAL NEWS
We did it again, third year in a row
On Friday May 18th, The Quebec community newspaper Association (QCNA) held its annual awards gala on board the AML Cruise Boat Le Cavalier Maxim.
Among the award winners The Laval News won first prize for Best Website. Koos van der Peijl, our webmaster, is thrilled. her hard work has paid off, again!
Created on August 18th 1993, The Laval News, then called The Chomedey News, is published by the same independent press group that publishes Nouvelles Parc–Extension News in Montréal, The North Shore News in the north shore suburbs of Rosemere, Two Mountains, Lorraine and Blainville and Ta Nea, the Greek Canadian News.
A member of Newsfirst multimedia, The Laval News is a newspaper dedicated to exploring local issues and strives to give its readers an objective and critical assessment of events that mark our times. It features up-to-date political and social stories along with poignant and quick witted commentary on subjects that affect not only our local readers but Canadians as a whole from coast to coast. Unlike many community newspapers,The Laval News frequently goes beyond the story, to isolate the focal point of events that shape Laval, the province, the country and the world.
Sporting an advertising/editorial ratio among the highest in the industry, The Laval News is member of the Quebec Community Newspaper Association and has year after year won awards conffered by this Association.
The most recent awards also included one for "lavalnews.ca", voted best community newspaper website two years in a row.
